With over 18 years of personal experience as a refugee, Bemeriki has firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced by displaced communities, which drives his passion for empowering others.

As a certified Permaculture Practitioner, Teacher, and Mushroom Consultant, Bemeriki has been instrumental in helping refugees across Uganda’s settlement camps enhance their food security and livelihoods. His work focuses on teaching sustainable farming techniques, such as permaculture and mushroom cultivation, which allow refugees to grow nutritious food even in difficult conditions. His dedication to these efforts has transformed lives, making refugee communities more self-sufficient and resilient.

Bemeriki holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Food Security and Nutrition in Humanitarian Emergencies, a Master’s degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration. His academic and practical expertise makes him a trusted advisor in nutrition and sustainable agriculture within humanitarian contexts.
